I spent two weeks in Aspen, at Anderson Ranch working with David Kimball Anderson in his lost wax workshop. The whole experience was completely new to me and very exciting. The extensive process consisted of the following steps: first create a wax figure, build your own encasement, mix hundreds of pounds of plaster, sand and water, pour molten bronze, burn out the wax in the kiln, cut through molds, power-wash pieces and spend hours of cutting, sanding and filing through metal. While the process of lost wax was taxing, I was overjoyed with my piece. # heavy suitcase #lost wax
